UK: Tragic Incident: Three Lives Lost as 4×4 Plunges into North Yorkshire River
LONDON: Three individuals lost their lives when a 4×4 vehicle plunged into a river in North Yorkshire, according to police reports.
Emergency services, including aerial support, were summoned to the River Esk near Glaisdale in the North York Moors at 11:50 GMT on Thursday.
A man who leaped into the water in an attempt to aid the trapped individuals was successfully rescued and received medical attention. Firefighters retrieved the submerged vehicle from the river around 15:00 GMT.
North Yorkshire Police confirmed that the next of kin for the deceased had been notified and were receiving support from specialized officers. The police cautioned that roads in the vicinity of the River Esk were severely affected by flooding.
